The Mobile Phone Congress in Barcelona is tight approaching and with it, the leaks that go whenever a rule nears. One such leakage is by a Chinese website, PCOnline.com.cn. The following pics is of a Sony Ericsson telephone whose example is yet unidentified has been leaked. Speculations abound on which telephone this is. It could really easily be an upgrade of the newly featured K850i although it could too be an upgrade of the K770i. This example seems to get a QVGA exhibit, LED flare, and 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus.

With all these highly advanced phones, we thought Japanese will not buy into all the hype iPhone. And even if we are not sure whether Apple will be able to repeat the success of the American market, we spotted a Japanese guy who seemed so desperate to get an iPhone he had already made his uber-cool Sony Ericsson W52S cursor resemble Apple handset. As you can clearly see from the picture above, the final result is a bizarre device to say the least, and we can only hope at least he likes it… Cause we are not.

There’s a rumor floating around the net about a new Sony Ericsson Z660i metallic clamshell.
First a drawing of SE Z660i appeared on Esato boards and then, what looks like an official press picture for the same handset turned up on a Thai (I think) site SE-Society.
Well, now that we have two independent sources showing pretty much the same handset (The Z660i first appeared on an Estato forum in the form of a rough sketch, the new leaked shot corroborates with the drawing previously seen), I guess Sony Ericsson Z660i clamshell must be real enough.
The reported SE Z660i specs include:
- 3G connectivity
- 2 megapixel camera
- 14 mm thick
Looks like the phone is more or less finished and ready for launch. We will probably hear about it early next year.

A beta tester of the Sony Ericsson P5i has reportedly leaked out a picture of the hotly anticipated handset, giving us just a glimpse at the Symbian 9.1-powered slider. While most of this is still conjecture at this point, we managed to rummage up a few rumored specs and details to tickle your fancy.
For starters, the Sony Ericsson P5i is a slider phone and it will be running on a version of Symbian 9.1, possibly getting the treatment from UIQ4, although UIQ 3.2 is more likely. Teh 2.8-inch display is said to be of full VGA resolution, making it perfect for mobile video watching and web surfing. The radios found inside include GPS, and 802.11b/g WiFi. We also hear that there’s a 5 megapixel CyberShot camera, 160MB internal memory, M2 and microSD expansion, and a 360 MHz processor.
Like I said, these are all rumored specs, but we hope to hear some sort of confirmation from Sony Ericsson at the Mobile World Congress in February. Stay tuned.

Dual-sliders are nothing new. Having a dedicated numeric keypad in addition to a full-QWERTY keyboard is just so convenient. And, it seems, Sony Ericsson is giving some serious consideration to bringing that convenience to a future handset. In their patent application, entitled “Two-way sliding mobile terminal,” Sony Ericsson reveals plans to use what looks like a pop-out mechanism that features a full-QWERTY keyboard layout as well as a numeric keypad. The keyboard pops out lengthwise to become a keyboard. Holding the handset vertically, the keypad pops out widthwise.
This actually looks like a way better alternative to the dual-sliding setup that we’re used to seeing. By combining the keyboard and keypad onto a single pop-out slab, Sony Ericsson’s future dual-sliding jobbies should be slimmer than the current dual-sliding offerings. We sure hope the Japanese-Swedish company will actually apply this concept to a handset in the near-term.

After different rumors, a leaked image and leaked specifications, Sony Ericsson P3i recently appeared listed on the MSN China mobile website, along with what seems to be a real picture of the handset. This means that, most probably, an official launch of P3i will follow pretty soon, although it is said that it will not hit the
market until the second quarter of 2008. This is the time when the P5i model should be launched too, so we can hope that P3i will come faster.
The P3i image from the Chinese website looks a lot like the P1i and M600 models from Sony Ericsson and not like the leaked photo that appeared a few months ago, which is said to present the P3i phone. This can only make us think that the leaked photo was just an image of a concept phone that doesn’t really exist, even though many of us would have wished so, as the image reveals an impressive phone.
Awaiting for its official launch, we must say that Sony Ericsson P3i will come with very attractive features. It is said to have a 2.8 inch VGA screen, supporting a high 480 x 640 resolution. Also, the phone packs a 5-megapixel camera and excellent image handling performances, making it a perfect handset for photography lovers.
P3i is powered by a 332 MHz processor, it has 128 MB of RAM and features HSPA performances and WiFi connectivity. The new phone will also bring a fresh UIQ interface version, but there is no clear information about this fact.
We think the new Sony Ericsson P3i will be targeted for both personal and business users, since the picture from the Chinese website shows the Sony Walkman logo on the phone’s screen, denoting the fact that it provides evolved multimedia features.
