Meizu M8 not an iPhone clone after all?

Files under iPhone | 1 Comment

meizu m8 3 buttons

This file under “yeah, right” but apparently the most famous clone iPhone will sport three, instead of just one button. According to the above image, which is said to the back of Meizu his latest prototype, the M8 May distances Apple handset. And while we now have this idea of how to be reflected in the operative part of the final design, a fan Meizu made that the record in the corner of the image that gives us an indication, the Chinese manufacturer could do with three buttons. Finally, it is fair to say that we welcome Meizu changes and are also hoping that they will be fine-tuning their interface especially since they do not get slammed by Apple’s legal department.

A guy turns his SE into an.. iPhone?

Home Made iPhone

With all these highly advanced phones, we thought Japanese will not buy into all the hype iPhone. And even if we are not sure whether Apple will be able to repeat the success of the American market, we spotted a Japanese guy who seemed so desperate to get an iPhone he had already made his uber-cool Sony Ericsson W52S cursor resemble Apple handset. As you can clearly see from the picture above, the final result is a bizarre device to say the least, and we can only hope at least he likes it… Cause we are not.

ColorWare Blackberry

BlackBerry owners will now have a chance to get more glossy and bright colors for their beloved handsets. ColorWare, a company known as the industry leader in altering the color of existing products, will start offering crazy colors in December 31, 2007 to 3 models of RIM handsets – Curve, Pearl, and 8800.

Well, it’s not just about colors at all. ColorWare uses an X2 Coating technology, a scratch resistant liquid plastic coating to protect your handset and block 99.8% of UV rays so the colors will not fade under the sun.

Other devices using ColorWare are gaming consoles, PMPs, laptops, and even iPhone.

LG Shine Review by phoneArena

Files under LG, review | Leave a Comment

LG had a smash hit when they came out with the Chocolate. To continue upon that success, another stylish line was released, the LG Shine.

After using the handset, the most shining thing, no pun intended, is the design itself. It’s finished off in brushed metal, feels solid, and isn’t overly heavy. It is somewhat thick when compared to most handsets from other companies but it feels very comfortable when held. The display only adds to the great look. Glare was never an issue for us and we were able to make out everything even in bright environments. Colors are very realistic without being over saturated or too dark.

Sliding it open or closed is easy thanks to a spring mechanism that takes over once the slider is half-way opened or closed. Once open, the keypad is revealed which has a strong resemblance to the RAZR minus the reflection. All the buttons are crammed together in this tight space and are a bit small. The design separating each key is slightly raised and easily felt even when not looking at the handset.

The biggest annoyance is that the call, hang-up, and back keys are all the way at the top of the keypad. With small fingers, it isn’t a problem to press them but for those who have bigger ones, the top of the finger has to be used. Despite their crammed design and small size, the keypad isn’t as uncomfortable to use as one might think. Each button is easy to press and gives back strong feedback in both feel and sound. Samsung F490 and P720 Previewed in Ukraine

Files under Samsung | 1 Comment

Samsung phones in Ukraine

In Ukraine, the local Samsung team held a press conference for the new line of Samsung mobile phone models. The others were already well-known to the world at large but the F490 and P720 weren’t — most especially the latter. Both are touch-screen phones with the F490 sporting a 5-megapixel digital camera and with a projected $600 price tag.

The P720 turns out to be Asian and Eastern European version of the Samsung P520 Armani. It has a 3-megapixel camera as well as the rest of the features of the P520. It, however, has a dual SIM capability. There are no release dates for either phone as of yet but things are looking positive from this recent spotting.
